Art Night Out Lafayette

June 9, 2017

Well, it was a hot one to say the least. We worked to the last second nailing and gluing the booth together as the heat outside seemed to get hotter. After nearly losing the booth off the trailer driving, losing the display pegs and plug strips, and almost forgetting to fill the register with cash the first night out as a street seller was tremendously successful!

This is the payment kiosk I designed and built with my Dad. I wanted to make a space that was simple and clean but also would invite people in to congregate. We had many great conversations Friday night with new friends around this kiosk.

Note to Self, Stay Hydrated.

It was a rough start as my Friends, Family, and I tried to recover our losses and find new ways to hang products in the sweltering heat radiating from the sun and the black pavement. Honestly, I had not even googled what to expect at Art Festivals. I figured I just leap in like I do everything else but I did not plan on mother nature turning my mind into mush as I tried learning how to work the Square Register in the moment as my friends tried to find the tiny black screws for the tv stand. Once we finally got settled an hour after the festival started we learned fast what works and what didn't.

The First Sell of the Day! I was massively overheating when we took this so I do not remember much of the first hour haha.

The Heat Initially caused a bit of delirium the first couple hours but after the sun finally went down I can feel my mind coming back to me.

"All I (censored) Want is Water and Some Ice!"

I got to meet so many wonderful people that evening and I'm so grateful for the interest in the film I've been working on and the amazing conversations I got to have about my Mom. I know she was so proud of all of us for doing our thing out there. She would have been right there with us selling if she was still here. My main mission was to inspire others and honor her unforgettable legacy publicly for the first time and I believe we took the first steps into a new chapter of 'Savage Queen Creations' Now that the first event is over we will take all that we learned and make it even more memorable for the next one. I hope to participate in more community events in the near future so keep an eye out for the Savage Queen Creations Booth at your next Festival!

Mission Accomplished.

Check Savage Queen Creations Calendar of Events for future dates and locations and be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for updates on the movie and reminders on festivals we are attending.

After the Band was done playing I turned up the color changing speakers for a bit. Katy Perry's New Album 'Witness' was on blast that night. The 4k TV was looping the video animations I created of my paintings and info on products. Everything was powered by a Goal Zero Yeti 1000 Lithium Ion Battery Hidden below.
