#Recap | Jackalope Winter Fair 2017
The Marathon Continues!
What? You didn't think I'd stop now that I've just gotten warmed up did you! The second week of Holiday festivities continued with the Jackalope Winter Fair in the historic McNichols Civic Center Building located in the heart of downtown Denver. I was completely new to 'Jackalope' and went in not having a clue what to expect. I'll admit I was still recovering from the weekend before but the folks at Jackalope made for the most streamlined and chillest setup I've ever experienced and frankly needed LOL. The building was glorious and newly renovated last year. The McNichols Civic Center Building was built in 1909 by Andrew Carnegie as one of his many libraries that littered the country. The restoration makes for the perfect event space that made the whole experience magical. Right next door was the beautifully lit Civic Center that would periodically play a wonderful holiday filled light show that gathered crowds every night.
Familiar Faces Galore!
This time I was determined to run the shop by myself and give my amazing friends a well-deserved break. I was quickly reminded however why we bring snacks and go the bathroom BEFORE the show. I was so happy to see many familiar faces from the weekend before stop by to pick up more 'Arsenal Wares' for their Christmas Lists. I was pleased to see so many others shopping local and supporting growing small businesses. Again I was shocked at how fast I sold out of some of my favorite products and new prints the first couple of hours. Which products were Jackalope Favorites you ask?
The Hive | Accessory Organizer and Sculpture
I literally had to rearrange my store to fill the holes left from my favorite product/display after selling 7 of these the first few hours. Each Hive is handmade by me and made from solid Oak and Sustainable wood sources. It is the perfect gift for those looking for something unique and versatile that will add a bit of modern class to your environment .
Tyrannical Sunrise | 12" x 12" Art Print
This one was a pleasant surprise to me that validated my theory on Adults and Dinosaurs. After watching the new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Trailer online on Thursday, I stayed up all night inspired to paint this and have it in time to sell on Saturday. Now many are the proud owner of one of my favorite creations!
Christmas is now just around the corner and I thank Jackalope for showing me a new market which I hope to participate again in the future. It was gorgeous, it was festive, and it was filled with joy and laughter fitting perfectly with the holiday season but there is one more Holiday surprise I have in store before the end of the year!
